I am very glad to announce that I have been invited to participate in the XII Florence Biennale that will take place at the historical Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy, from the 18th to 27th of October.
The Theme: ARS et INGENIUM – Toward Leonardo da Vinci’s legacy of Similitude and Invention
In anticipation of the fifth centenary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death in 2019, the International Contemporary Art Biennal of Florence will reflect on the cognitive and creative approach of the great master of the Rennaissance who is regarded as unsurpassed genius.
My Hommage à Leonardo da Vinci resulted in a wall installation created with clay and graphite on paper. The title is: “Breath of Mind”
This artwork is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s thought that all shapes are to be found in nature, in the work presented here, realistic depiction and abstract elements converge searching for an expression of the interdependencies and fluent transitions between the shapes of nature, the shapes of our perception and the shapes of our imagination without neglecting ruptures and dissimilarities in these transitions.
